County Fairs & Rodeos

Experience good old-fashioned fun at outdoor gatherings and celebrations to wrap up the summer. Nearly every county in Southeast Idaho has its own county fair, full of local talent, food, artistry, livestock, rodeos, and more entertainment. Tractor pulls, outdoor concerts, and more Events in Southeast Idaho forge fond summer memories.

Shoshone Bannock Indian Festival

Immerse yourself in authentic Native American singing, dancing, and drumming.

Native Americans gather from all over the continent to compete at the Shoshone Bannock Indian Festival. All are invited to attend and enjoy traditional dancing, singing, arts, and food.

This four-day powwow includes all-Indian rodeos, pageants, traditional games, and a buffalo and salmon feast. In addition, you can witness Indian Relay Horse Racing, a sport that originated here with Shoshone and Bannock Tribes. This unique adrenaline-filled tradition consists of multiple horses and bare-back riders exchanging horses mid-race.

Historic Sites

Monuments, museums, preserved structures, and prominent landmarks honor the past and bring Historic Sites to life. Pioneers traveled through Southeast Idaho along the Oregon Trail and Pioneer Historic Byway, leaving behind cultivated and uncultivated landscapes, handcrafted architecture, and rich history for us to admire.
