Forces of nature created them for us to enjoy,
thankfully without the sulfur or chemical odor usually
associated with natural hot springs. Five locations
have been developed for regular visits popular with
tourists and local citizens alike. All five will add to
your book of favorite memories of Southeast Idaho. Several Southeast Idaho Lodging

American Falls Indian Springs is named
for the historic encampment of Native Americans at this
natural hot springs two miles southwest of American Falls on
state highway 37. Modern improvements include a large park
with shelters, a large heated swimming pool, spacious RV
parking and tent sites. Nearby Massacre Rocks State Park is
popular with Oregon Trail history buffs. Open only
during the summer months.

Downey
Downata Hot Springs
is 3 and a half miles southeast of Downey on US 91.
Natural hot water flows year round through this large
swimming pool and hot tub. The clubhouse provides
changing room and lockers plus a café and game room. A
zero depth water playground with water toys is popular
with children. Three hydrotube rides thrill all
ages. The resort accommodates overnighters at a bed &
breakfast, cabins, yurts or RV Park with hookups. Tent sites are also
available. Open year round.
Located 5 miles south of Downey on Highway

| Lava Hot Springs -
Lava Hot Springs Foundation - The warm water attractions
and the charming little town that grew up between them
are named for the two major lava flows that traversed
this valley. Four hot pools with differing temperatures
are at the east end of town while the Olympic sized
swimming complex is at the west end. Over 2.5 million gallons a day course through the springs and are diverted into the Portneuf River keeping the springs ever changing and clean. The spring's temperatures range from approximately 102˚ to 112˚ degrees.

Lava Hot
Springs Inn features five outdoor hot pools have free
flowing hot mineral water. They vary in temperature from 44
degrees (cold plunge) to 112 degrees. There are soaking pools
as well an 20' x 80' therapy pool that you can swim in. Relax and soak with a view
of the Portneuf River. The 80' x 20' Therapy
Pool temperature ranges from 84 to 96 degrees and is 4
feet deep. The Aztec Pool features a relaxing fountain.
Located in Lava Hot Springs just over the the bridge on
Center Street.

Preston -
Riverdale Resort
Features a large outdoor
swimming pool and
hot tubs fed by natural hot water, including a
therapeutic jetted tub.
A hydrotube pool and children’s pool make this a good
family outing.
A gaming room and snack bar compliment the changing and
locker
rooms. The resort has eight motel rooms with hot tubs in
every room, RV & tent sites, a group camping area, and enclosed pavilions for your group.
Located next to the Bear River five
miles north of Preston at the intersection of state
highways 34 & 36.

Thatcher -
Maple Grove Hot Springs
Relaxation and serenity are the order of the
day. Maple Grove Hot Springs is located in South East
Idaho in the beautiful and scenic Oneida Narrows. The
hot springs front Oneida Narrows Reservoir on the Bear
River. Three different therapeutic pools, three
different temperatures all surrounded by a beautiful
canyon!
Our four campsites are tucked in to large Maple and
Cedar trees providing shade and privacy.
Located along the Bear River at the North end of Oneida
Narrows Reservoir.

Saint Charles -
Bear Lake Hot Springs
Soak in large pools near the shore of beautiful Bear
Lake. Camping is available. Camping sites, all with
beautiful views of the lake. Sea-Doo and Boat rentals
available on-site at the beach area. This is the perfect
getaway for a summer vacation or your next family
reunion. The campground and hot pools are open from
approximately Memorial Day to Labor Day.
